Trump setbacks for LGBTQ+ Community

Throughout LGBTQ+ history, we have come to a time and age where things have seemingly found there place. Especially as on the 26th of June 2015, same sex marriage got legalized in all 50 states back when Barack Obama was President. Donald Trump, American president, has brought upon a toll on the queer community as the Trump Administration are trying to define being transgender out of existence.
“The Trump administration is attempting to strip transgender people of official recognition by creating a narrow definition of gender as being only male or female and unchangeable once determined at birth” - New York Times report

There is a fine line yet major difference between biological sex, gender identity and gender expression. Tran’s rights are human rights too and stripping such rights away from people just like us ‘would reverse the expansion of transgender rights that took place under Barack Obama.’

Trumps administration sets to ban transgender people from the military due to “tremendous medical costs and disruption”. Why is this unethical? A man or woman who wants to fight and serve their country should have every right to do so. What the person was assigned as at birth and what they identify as currently should not make a difference in the eyes of the government.

There are currently between four and 10 thousand U.S active-duty and reserve service members are believed to be transgender. An Obama administration policy change has allowed them to serve in the U.S military. Will Trump be the one to take that right away from them?
